When held up to the light, a watermark is visible as either a gray image on a white background or vice versa. Whenever you see a blank spot on a bill, it is usually a watermark. 2 --Portrait Many banknotes have a portrait of a dignitary on them. Often, the watermark is a duplicate of the portrait. 3 --Serial Number The serial number is perhaps one of the oldest security devices on a banknote. Using unique serial numbers on each bill, governments are able to closely track legitimate bills. 4 --Issuing Authority In this case it is "Banco Central del Uruguay" or The Central Bank of Uruguay. Home TV Radio Talk Where I Live A-Z Index The currency in Ibiza is the Spanish Peseta. With the pound being strong at the moment you will get a great exchange rate, which is a blessing as things out there don't come cheap. The average club entrance price is about 5000pts (?20) and drinks are about 800-1000pts (?3.50-?4). A main course meal will cost about 1500pts and a drink in a bar 600pts. There are plenty of money exchanges in Ibiza, but be warned, you cannot get money from them with a credit card, you can only exchange cash for cash. Cash points can be found in San Antonio and Ibiza Town, both of which accept all major debit and credit cards. And don't worry the instructions do come in English. There are no cash withdrawal facilities near Privilege, Amnesia or Space so if you are headi Read More

Simply Professional We Support Make Poverty History!! Crosswinds Customer Testimonial of the Moment Jenn, Years ago, when I was first looking for a host for my web site, I looked at lots of places and chose Crosswinds (then, in its infancy) because I sensed that it had a real "human" aspect to it. This has DEFINITELY proven itself to be true! I've gone through some "growing pains" with Crosswinds over the years, but someone was always there, a REAL PERSON to address a problem, to take steps to improve the situation for the future, to empathize with the pain that a client feels when something out of their control doesn't seem to be working. Crosswinds has a HEART, and for this reason I will remain your loyal customer for a LONG time to come! Most recently, I decided to upgrade from my old " Read More

CURRENCY

CURRENCY Cyprus currency is based on the decimal system and one Cyprus pound (C ) is divided into 100 cent (c). There are banknotes in the following denominations: 50c, CP1, CP5, CP10 and CP20. Until 1972, the Cyprus pound was equivalent to one pound Sterling, but after this date the value of the Cyprus pound was fixed, by agreement with the IMF at 2.13281 grams of gold. Later, in 1973 the value of the Cyprus pound was pegged to the average value of a basket of currencies representing the currencies of the principal trading partners of Cyprus. On June 19, 1992, the Cyprus pound was linked to the European Currency Unit (ECU). The central rate was set at 1.7086 ECUs per Cyprus pound and the margin within which the Cyprus pound is allowed to fluctuate was fixed at 2.25 per cent above or below Read More

Hryvnia - The New Official Currency of Ukraine. The Hryvnia, also spelled sometimes as Hryvna or Grivna (UHR) was introduced September 2, 1996 by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) . It replaces the old 'Coupon' (or 'Karbovanets') which was a temporary currency used in Ukraine during the period of separation from the rouble zone. There are bills for 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Hryvnias. There are coins called ' kopiyka ' for 1, 2 ,5 10, 25, and 50 kopiykas. (1 kopiyka is equal to 1/100 of Hryvnia.)
