The Library Song

There's a place for you and a place for me, it's the local public library. They have books and things that they lend for free It's the latest, it's the greatest, it's the library. Educational, informational, entertainment that's sensational. It's a way of life, it's for you and me It's the latest, it's the greatest, it's the library. They have histories, they have mysteries And for mothers, books of recipes See a movie show, hear a symphony It's the latest, it's the greatest, it's the library. Music & lyrics: Lib. trad. nce upon a time... when men wore powdered wigs and rode in gilded carriages, a baby boy was born in the beautiful town of Salzburg, in the Austrian Mountains. The date was January 27th, 1756. At that time, unlike Europe, there were no buildings or houses in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, the very place where this particular story of Mozart was first told. Songs Oldies But Goodies I have created this page for a few reasons. 1) For individuals in the playrooms. The days you are sitting with the children and you draw a blank At the beginning of the year I always use a index card and have these basic song titles written down. 2) For those starting out in the field and can't remember all the songs they know. The old classics are the best place to start and add to your song file as you collect more songs and fingerplays. For example (Theme - Outerspace - Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star) 3)I also know many Moms who want to sing with their children and think they don't know any songs. You know probably know quite a few. I hope these song titles and a little help from the lyrics will help you start singing up a storm with your children. Old McDonald Ha Read More

Rain is just the thing we need For new spring plants. Fun in the Rain (Tune: Deck the Halls) Do you hear the pitter patter? Hear the little raindrops falling down. Can you see the splashing water? All the little raindrops on the ground. Time to get our big umbrellas We don't want to get our hair all wet. If you wear your boots and raincoat, We will go outside and splash a bit! A Song of Springtime (Tune: "Did You Ever See a Lassie") Come sing a song of springtime, Of springtime, of springtime. Come sing a song of springtime, The warm days are here. With warm breezes blowing And flower Read More
